Flat Twist. I tried a new style last night on my natural hair. I flat twisted it after I washed and deep conditioned.  I definitely liked the results. I am getting better about taking and posting pictures with my natural hair.  I haven't been a fan of how I look in pictures.

Hi Bun. Before washing and flat twisting I wore my hair in a high bun for a few days. It's usually my "go to" style when the twists or braids get old. I'm definitely looking forward to straightening my hair and seeing what it looks like and the length. I "big chopped" back in April and haven't had a blow out or trim yet. Hoping to get it before the New Year. I'm pass my 6 month deadline.

I finished my foundation pages for my December Daily last night and I'm definitely loving how it's turning out. I used a ton of Make It Merry for my album this year along with some Dear Lizzy, Jenni Bowlin, Pink Paislee, and a few other brands. My plan is to share my foundation pages on the 1st and then the each day going forward.

I wanted a Cameo for months now and finally decided to take advantage of the 25% sale over at TwoPeas about two weeks ago.  It came last night and I can't wait to set it all up.

Hope you all are having a great week.

As we are approaching Thanksgiving I was sitting at my desk thinking of so many things that I'm thankful for. I'm just completely thankful for the many blessings that I have had from this time last year to now. There has definitely been a lot of changes that have happened, all of which I'm thankful for, because they continue to help shape and mold me into a better person. I strive everyday to be a better person and working even harder to be what God would have me to be. Even through all the small valley's that have happened I'm just beyond blessed to be alive, present and in the current moment.

A co-worker of mines came to my desk today and felt the need to just vent somethings that have been happening around the office and I was reminded of how thankful and blessed I am to be able to go to work and not take the things that happen at work home with me. I'm thankful for a relationship with God so that I don't allow negativity to surround me either at home or at work.  I'm thankful to have co-workers who I share an AWESOME relationship with on and off the clock.  So thankful to just have a job. PERIOD.

It's so easy to complain about life's valleys this year but today I just want to be thankful. I want to be thankful for the Lord's continued blessings, family, friends, a job, food to eat, fresh water to drink, a car to drive, a home to live in, clothes and the list could go on.

I would hope that anyone reading this post would also take a moment to just reflect on what they are thankful for as we celebrate Thanksgiving this year.

Happy Thanksgiving, T.

Your album last year was one of my most favorites, that is actually how I discovered your blog! I can't wait to see what your album looks like this year. I have my cover done, I am doing an 8 1/2 x 11 this year, I know that is bigger than what most people are doing but I felt with a new grandchild this year I had a lot to document. I am using many manufacture's this year as I loved so many lines,AC Kringle and co, SC wonderland,OA Make it Merry,Echo Park This and That,Jenni Bowlin and Melissa Frances make up most of my album. Hey Rhodna....thanks so much for the sweet compliment! =) I think I'm revamping my DD thoughts again after Make It Merry hit TwoPeas yesterday.  I think I almost bought everything from the collection. I can't wait to see your DD! I love every brand you named. I think mines is going to be a mix too....gosh! I can't choose, lol!

So.........................I think I may be re-vamping my original re-vamped ideas for DD this year. I fell in love with OA Make it Merry collection and I'm definitely even liking the colors in the TwoPeas promotion on their website. Who says a girl can't love a little pink for the Holidays?!!!!  Gosh! Who knows what I'm going to do but Make it Merry just checked out of TwoPeas to me.

Hope my secret santa person will enjoy some of Make it Merry too!!!

2011 December Daily
---------------------------------------->*<------------------------------------------ So I've decided to go a different route with my DD this year. I really loved the colors I used last year so I think I'm going to go back to red, gold, black & white with maybe a touch of another color.

 I was inspired by vee over at Creative Blessing to get my plan together. I don't know what size my album is going to be this year. I was thinking of keeping it around the same size as last years but I think I'll figure it out as I sit down and begin to work. I liked the fact that I kept it simple which didn't feel too overwhelming. Some of the items I'm planning to use are listed below.

Are you doing a DD or Christmas album? If so, please share.

No matter what motivates you to get out to the polls to vote today, just make sure that you do.  The lines will be long and where I live the air is a bit chilly but its so important to vote. My vote time took about an hour and a half from the time I got in line to when I got back in the car.

I must admit that I am nervous once again about the elections and will be glued to the TV when I get off waiting on the numbers to roll in.

FOTD: Black Opal Foundation Stick
 ------------------------------------->*<---------------------------------------------
I've recently discovered a new foundation love! Yes....as if I need any more make-up, lol!  YouTube is such an enabler. I've recently been watching videos from Lyric JamaicanMakeUpArtist and I just knew for sure she was probably using MAC or some other higher-end foundation and NO! Wait...let me tell you what she uses....wait for it, wait for it.........Black Opals Full Coverage Foundation sticks. I bought a total of 5 shades:
-------------------------------------->*<---------------------------------------------
1. Beautiful Bronze : All over face combined with Suede Mocha
2. Suede Mocha: All over face combined with Beautiful Bronze  (*I could easily use Suede Mocha as my all over by itself but I do love the warmth of BB)
3. Black Walnut: Used as a base for my contour powder
4. Heavenly Honey: Highlight for under eyes/cheeks/nose
5. Hazlenut: I use as a base foundation for under my eyes

I know some may think why the need for 5 foundations but normally one color just mutes your face completely out without any dimension and our faces are not like that naturally. As stated above, each foundation for me has its own purpose: base, highlight and contour.  I found them locally at my CVS and they were $9.50 each. Some of your local beauty supply stores will carry them as well. Definitely cheaper than a lot of higher-end but it is a bit pricey for a drug store foundation.

For most work days, I keep things simple. I fill in my eyebrows, keep the eyes simple with two shadows from Urban Decay Naked palette, some liner, mascara, nude lip, soft cheek and soft highlight.

I definitely recommend these foundation sticks. Let me know if you try them out!
